The new Accreditation Act, which came into force on 1 July 2013, created a need for a new guide to the accreditation of new programmes at higher education institutions. After a hearing phase, the final guide was published on this page on 30 September 2013.
The former guide
The new programmes for which applications were submitted during the application rounds that had deadlines before the new Accreditation Act came into force on 1 July 2013, will be accredited in pursuance of the previous accreditation system and the former guide. This applies to universities and the professional and vocational areas.

As the new accreditation system process becomes fully developed and established, this page will be supplemented with the deadlines for new programmes under the new system on an ongoing basis.
Deadlines for applications for new programmes in the new accreditation system:
- 1 February 2014
- 1 June 2014
Applications for new Erasmus Mundus programmes
- The next deadline for applying for the accreditation of new Erasmus Mundus graduate programmes is October 15th 2014.
The date is fixed on the basis of the latest expected date for the European Commission’s decision at the end of August 2014. Universities therefore have at least six weeks to prepare documentation material and accreditation applications after the commission has notified its approval of the programme in question.
Our application module enables central staff at education institutions to draw up applications for the accreditation of new and existing programmes.
Once an application has been drawn up, it can be shared with other contributors. The application module must be used by staff to provide basic data and to upload a documentation report, supplementary material and a covering letter.
The application module automatically collates files and entries in a single application.
